A common problem that all cellos face is the undesirable "wolf tone" that can occur when certain frequencies over vibrate, manifesting as a stuttering effect. Interestingly, the most expensive instruments in the world (think old Italian) usually have the worst wolf notes, since the instrument resonates so strongly. We've encountered the same issue with carbon fiber cellos, so we designed our own wolf stoppers to reduce this disruptive howling sound. These magnetic pieces are crafted with a 3D printed enclosure, placed between the bridge and tailpiece on the offending string(s) to elevate tonal clarity and achieve a smooth even tone. The light Jaunty is for F#, F, E, Eb, D wolf tones. The heavy Jaunty is used for C#, C or anything lower.

Why is it called the Jaunty??
We’re so glad you asked! When the Jaunty clips to the string, the top of the Jaunty sits at an angle pinching the string and one side of the magnet forming the Jaunty angle.
